What is Health Kinesiology?
Gentle muscle testing

Muscle monitoring to identify the best way to rebalance your body

Imagine if you could ask your body what you needed to enjoy vibrant health and well-being, and actually have your body answer back?

With over 20 years of experience of successfully treating a number of clients with Health Kinesiology, Sandie Lovell can assist in starting you on your journey to wellness with this powerful natural therapy.

Health Kinesiology [HK] – is an established, bio-energetic holistic healing system combining the ancient wisdom of Traditional Oriental Medicine with the modern technique of muscle testing. It restores the normal flow of energy in your body and re-establishes a balanced meridian energy system in the face of any stressors that may weaken this system.

The meridian energy system, as used in both acupuncture and HK, supplies “Qi”, “life force” or energy to your whole being and is a primary concept of traditional Oriental medicine. The meridians are named according to the internal organ it affects.

When you are healthy, energy flows effortlessly throughout the meridians and most imbalances correct themselves easily. Any stress, – whether it’s physical trauma, electromagnetic, emotional or psychological disturbances, bio-energetic disturbed reactions to contact substances, or detoxification issues – can cause a persistent blockage in the energy system which leads to impaired functioning.

Health Kinesiology uses a wide range of gentle but powerful energy techniques to restore balance to your meridian energy system and thereby help eliminate or greatly reduce the symptoms of a potentially endless list of health problems. It can help alleviate excess stress in your life which leaves you free to function better on all levels and experience an enhanced level of health and well-being.

How does HK work?
Muscle testing

Muscle monitoring to get a picture of what is happening in your energy system

HK uses gentle muscle testing that is neither painful nor uncomfortable.  This highly skilled technique involves applying light pressure to a working muscle that is in a contracted position and monitoring the subtle muscle responses.

In HK we lightly touch specific points around the navel and other specific ‘reflex’ points on the torso whilst testing a working muscle to assess the energy status of the 14 major meridians. If the muscle relaxes, this indicates that the meridian pair the point represents is in a state of over-energy because the normal flow of bio-energy is not balanced.

After a meridian energy balancing procedure is performed, confirmatory checks are carried out to ensure we have a balanced bio-energetic system.

Having a balanced system allows us to use HK in verbal questioning mode while testing the working muscle.  If the muscle relaxes this is interpreted as a ‘NO’ response.  If the muscle stays locked or strong this is interpreted as a ‘YES’ response.

This response reveals what is stressing the energy system and more importantly identifies which is the most effective energy balancing technique for your body.

The gentle energy balancing techniques may involve the person:

  • thinking a precise thought or emotional feeling
  • having magnets, essential oils, colour or homeopathic samples placed on the body
  • being placed in a specific body position or making a specific movement

While doing this specific acupuncture points are held to rebalance the energy and restore the body’s natural balance. No needles are involved.

When the energy system is no longer under stress, the body/mind is free to start its own self healing, your symptoms are alleviated and you experience better health and well-being.

What to expect in a session of Health Kinesiology at Vital Health Matters
Gentle stress release

One of many gentle stress release procedures

Each session lasts about an hour, (30–40 mins for children) and you lie down on a therapy couch fully clothed. Sitting up is an option if you find lying down is physically uncomfortable.

The number of sessions needed varies from person to person. The average is 3 or 4 sessions. At the first session, approximately how many sessions are needed and the time gap needed between sessions is determined using muscle testing.

Once your concerns have been correctly dealt with your symptoms should not return. However, new traumas or changes in circumstances can stress the body again, and so I would recommend maintenance sessions every 3 to 4 months as a preventative measure but this is entirely optional.

Your Own Health and Well-being Programme at Vital Health Matters

Because HK treats you as an individual, no two treatments are ever the same, even for people with similar symptoms. In a single session the practitioner may identify disturbed reactions to contact substances, rectify chemical imbalances, release psychological or emotional stress and may give you suggestions on simple changes for you to incorporate into your lifestyle that will be supportive for your health

Often bringing dramatic results, HK is a powerful and efficient healing system that is being increasingly recognised by the medical profession.

You don’t have to be ill to benefit from HK.
As well as an effective treatment for physical ailments, HK has had dramatic results in helping people to:

  • Overcome fears, phobias and worries for increased self-confidence
  • Enhance sporting, musical and other abilities
  • Become more focussed and increase your potential
